This is my Everest, I’ve been working on this tepee for 25 years and it’s still not finished. The ultimate slow stitching work in progress - it is embroidered on a calico base using recycled and donated yarns. The densely covered surface stitching has come to represent the personal journey of myself and my family over that time. My children have played in it, slept in it, had tantrums in it and scribbled on it. It has become more than just an heirloom tepee and has been stitched by friends, members of the public, a scout troop, and children & families at community events and festivals. It has developed it’s own personality and is often invited to events whether I can attend or not.
