space junk - noun
disused satellites and other man-made debris in orbit around the earth.
I have long been fascinated by the space junk phenomenon. There is a beautiful corona of light reflecting crap surrounding our planet. I took this as the starting point to investigate the equivalence to people’s lives. The Space Junk series explores the minutiae of materials left in our wake as we journey through time and space. I have had the privilege to complete a number of private commissions inspired by this series; it is an intimate and often emotional process mapping the historical and geographical connections of a person. If you would like to investigate commissioning a piece in this series you can contact me here.
